What to Expect After Treatment

It’s common to experience temporary symptoms around the injection sites. These usually resolve within a few days:

  • Tenderness, swelling or bruising: These effects may last up to two weeks.

  • Lumpiness: The treated area may feel bumpy for 5 to 7 days. This is part of the healing process and will settle naturally.

  • Mild discomfort: Paracetamol may be taken to ease pain. Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen unless medically advised.

  • Skin response: The effect of the treatment can vary depending on skin type, age, and lifestyle. Longevity will differ from person to person.

Essential Aftercare Instructions

To support healing and maximise results, follow these aftercare steps:

  • Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours post-treatment.

  • Keep away from sunshine, steam rooms, and saunas for two weeks.

  • Do not apply pressure or massage the treated area for 2 to 3 days.

  • Use a cool compress if swelling feels excessive.

  • Avoid smoking and limit alcohol consumption.

  • Consider Arnica gel or tablets to support healing.

  • Sleep on your back the night after your procedure.

Before Future Appointments

  • Avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medication (e.g., ibuprofen) for 24 hours before your treatment.

  • For special occasions or events, book your appointment at least two weeks in advance to allow the skin to settle fully.

Capillary Refill Check (CRT)

Capillary refill time can help monitor healthy blood flow in the treated area.

How to Check:

  1. Press gently on the treated area for 5 seconds.

  2. Release and observe the return of skin colour.

Normal refill time is under 2 seconds.
If the skin stays pale or is slow to regain colour, please contact us right away.

Combination or Repeat Treatments

Some clients may benefit from a series of treatments or combining Profhilo and skin boosters with other procedures. Your practitioner will advise on the most suitable plan based on your skin goals.
