Do Dermal Fillers Cause Discomfort? Our dermal fillers contain lidocaine, a trusted local anaesthetic, to minimise any discomfort. The inclusion of lidocaine in our facial fillers, combined with the skillful execution of the procedure, helps alleviate any temporary sensitivity or discomfort some individuals might experience. To further ensure your comfort, we also apply a gentle numbing agent before starting the procedure. Our commitment is to make your rejuvenation journey as pleasant as the results themselves.
-
How Long Can I Expect Dermal Fillers to Last?Typically most filler treatments we administer last for around 1 2 months. Recent studies indicate that HA fillers could last over a decade. Factors like product type, quantity, and individual characteristics influence their duration. At Muse Medi Spa, we customise each service to meet your specific needs, ensuring a stunning transformation that's uniquely yours.
-
Who May Not Be an Ideal Fit for Dermal Fillers? While our dermal fillers provide unparalleled rejuvenation, they may not be suitable for everyone. We recommend caution or reconsideration for clients experiencing: Active facial or oral herpes infection Infection/active acne in the treatment area Current systemic infection Recent dental work Uncontrolled diabetes Blood-clotting issues Allergy to any components of injectable hyaluronic acid Pregnancy or breastfeeding For those on immunosuppressive therapy, we advise careful consideration before treatments. At Muse Medi Spa, we believe in a holistic, personalised approach and recommend booking a consultation with our professional, nurse-led team. Together, we'll explore the best course for your aesthetic journey.
-
When Can I Resume Treatment Following Dermal Filler Dissolving? Two weeks after dissolution, you can proceed with your chosen dermal filler treatment. This interval ensures that the previous filler has completely dissolved and your skin is fully prepared for the next procedure. If you suspect any residual filler remains, please contact us. Additional Hyalase may be necessary to completely dissolve any lingering filler before we move forward.
-
What are the risks of dermal fillers?Whilst injection complication is incredibly rare, it is essential that you are aware of the possible risks and side effects of treatments so that you can properly consent to treatment. This is also why it is imperative that you use a medical professional for treatment so that should any adverse event occur, your provider is able to assess, diagnose and treat as required. Full information on all formalities is always discussed at your consultation. Bruising – Probable Swelling/Inflammation - Probable Infection – Unlikely Delayed onset inflammation/granuloma - Unlikely Herpetic outbreak – Patient dependant (always disclose your cold sore history at consultation so that measures can be put in place to prevent herpetic outbreak) Allergic Reaction/Anaphylaxis – Incredibly Rare Vascular Occlusion (blocked artery/vein) – Rare Necrosis – Incredibly Rare Blindness – Extremely Rare

-
I am pregnant/breastfeeding, can I have any treatments? We are unable to treat anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. There is not significant evidence to support the safety of toxin or dermal filler within pregnancy or lactation and it would be unethical to treat in this instance.
-
Is Bruising or Swelling Expected After the Procedure? In aesthetic procedures, while precision and technique greatly minimise the chances of bruising or swelling, it is still a slight possibility whenever a needle comes close to the skin. At Muse Medi Spa, we can't guarantee no bruising or swelling, but incidents are rare, especially with treatments like Botox. We recommend scheduling your appointments with a two-week recovery window before any major social engagements.
-
How can I prevent bruising and swelling?Avoiding alcohol, aspirin and ibuprofen for 72 hours before any injectable procedure. Avoid strenuous exercise and caffeine on the morning of your appointment. You can also take arnica tablets purchased from any pharmacy or health store for 2 weeks pre procedure to minimise bleeding.

What Will My Anti-Wrinkle Appointment Entail?Your journey to a rejuvenated self begins with an in-depth consultation. Our Nurse Prescriber will evaluate your facial symmetry to design a bespoke treatment plan tailored specifically for you. Taking into account your medical history and any previous aesthetic treatments, we craft a unique and personalised experience. Your goals and expectations are integrated into the plan to ensure a truly bespoke service. The procedure, which takes approximately 15 minutes, is performed with utmost precision and care. Our meticulous process includes thorough skin disinfection, careful drug preparation, and precise injections using ultra-fine needles, prioritising your comfort and well-being. We provide detailed aftercare instructions and recommend a 2-week post-treatment review to evaluate results and make any necessary adjustments. The amount of toxin administered is carefully documented in your private file to ensure consistency in future visits and optimised results.
-
How does anti-wrinkle work?Botulinum Toxin (known as Botox) is a neuromodulator that is injected into targeted treatment areas using an ultra-fine needle. It works by blocking the nerve signals needed for facial muscles to contract. Muscle movement is slowed, and cosmetic improvement then takes shape. Once injected, the neuromodulator relaxes the muscles and decreases their movement, which in turn reduces appearance of lines or wrinkles in the area. Effect starts to kick in anywhere from 3-7 days post injection, with final results being seen 14 days later.
-
Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Cause Discomfort? At Muse Medi Spa, we aim to make your journey to rejuvenation as comfortable as possible. While anti-wrinkle injections may cause brief, minor discomfort, our expertly trained professionals use ultra-fine needles, comparable to a hair strand, to significantly minimise any potential pain. Rest assured, any temporary sensitivity concludes with the procedure. Anaesthetic numbing agents are rarely needed, as your comfort is our top priority.
-
How long will my anti-wrinkle treatment last? The results of Botox typically last between 3-4 months from the date of injection depending on the region treated. Over time the body metabolises the Botox, leading to the slow return of muscle movement in the treatment area. Patients can choose to maintain their Botox results for longer periods by undergoing periodic maintenance treatments every 3-4 months.
-
Is there an Ideal Age to Commence Anti-Wrinkle Treatment? The decision to begin your anti-wrinkle treatment journey isn't determined by age but by your skin's unique characteristics. You might wonder if you're 'too young' or 'too old' for Botox. At Muse Medi Spa, we assure you there is no predefined age bracket. Each treatment is personalised, and our approach to anti-wrinkle care is no exception. . During your initial consultation with our medical prescribing professionals, we assess your skin's needs rather than your age. Generally, we recommend considering treatment when your skin starts to show persistent fine lines, even when your face is at rest. If these lines concern you, it's the perfect time to consider treatment. For those with deeply etched lines that remain visible even when stretching the surrounding skin, we might suggest additional treatments alongside Botox. Remember, our primary commitment is to meet your unique aesthetic desires. There's no one-size fits all as you are each our Muse.
-
What Are The Potential Complications Of Anti-Wrinkle Injections?Although anti-wrinkle injections carry minimal risk, it's crucial to be aware of potential side effects. Rarely, undesired outcomes may occur. During our thorough consultation, we will walk you through all risks and possible adverse effects to ensure you are fully informed. It's also important to note that the effects of the toxin are temporary, with any unforeseen side effects usually resolving within 8 to 12 weeks.
-
Do you offer an anti-wrinkle ‘top up’?The complimentary 2-week review is not compulsory nor essential. This review is not a top up, but an assessment of your treatment outcomes. Toxin doesn’t work immediately, and unlike filler results are not seen for the first 7-10 days. 2 weeks post treatment, if a correctional dose is required it will be administered at this review appointment. If your toxin treatment has taken well, with no asymmetry or irregularity, additional toxin will not be required or administered.
