Before your pregnancy massage
Get clearance from your healthcare provider — especially if you have a high-risk pregnancy or complications
Choose a certified prenatal massage therapist trained in pregnancy-safe techniques
Avoid heavy meals at least 1–2 hours before your appointment
Stay hydrated to support circulation and help flush out toxins
Wear comfortable, loose clothing for easy undressing and redressing
Inform your therapist about your pregnancy stage, any medical conditions, and areas of discomfort or sensitivity
Avoid caffeine and alcohol before your session
Arrive early to relax and fill out any necessary health forms
After your pregnancy massage
Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and prevent soreness
Rest and relax — avoid strenuous activity or heavy lifting for the rest of the day
Listen to your body — some mild soreness or fatigue is normal, but stop any activity if you feel discomfort
Avoid hot tubs, saunas, or intense heat for 24 hours after your massage
Eat light, nutritious meals to support your body
Apply gentle stretching only if recommended by your therapist
Notify your healthcare provider or therapist if you experience unusual pain, swelling, or other symptoms
